Product Review - Oriflame The One Wonder Liner

   The beautiful ladies at Oriflame had sent me the Oriflame The One Wonder Liner as a Women's Day gift a few months ago. Reviewing the same here today. Do give the article a read to find our how it fared with me.

   Product Claims: Get the lines you want with the flick of a wrist. 
- Slanted tip for perfectly bold or delicate lines.
- Quick and easy to apply.
- Intense black lasts all day.
- Quick drying.
- Smudge proof.
- Suitable for contact lens wearers.

   Price: Rs. 499/-
   Volume: 2.5 ml.
   Shelf Life: Not clearly mentioned. No mention of manufacturing date, though that of expiry is printed on the bottom of the bottle.
   Directions:
- Draw a thin line following the upper lash line. Angle the wing towards the end of your eyebrow.
- Draw another line above the lash line to the wing's end.
- Fill it in using the thick edge of your applicator tip.
   Ingredients: Aqua, Alcohol Denat., Acrylates Copolymer, Glycerin, Disodium Cetyl Phenyl Ether Disulfonate, Panthenol, Xanthan Gum, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Denatonium Benzoate, CI 77499, CI 77266 (Nano).

   The Oriflame The One Wonder Liner comes in form of a conical bluish-purple container provided with a twistable cap. Its broader base acts as the reservoir for the liner and the pointed end contains the applicator brush. The base is printed in a brassy ink with the name of the brand and product, net content, manufacturing details and the expiry date. It comes with a sticker stuck on its cap on which additional customer service and manufacturing details are printed. The packaging of the Wonder Liner is compact, simple, sturdy and travel friendly. The applicator brush is made of felt and is quite sturdy and thick having a slanting pointed end.

   The Oriflame The One Wonder Liner is liquid in consistency, has a strong chemical smell, does not contain any gritty particles in its formulation and can be swiped across the eyelids to give a smooth matte finish. It gives a jet black coloration in a single swipe and is quick to dry. Application with the brush provided is a bit difficult especially when the eyeliner has to be applied in a thin delicate line despite the slanted tip provided. The formulation is water resistant and smudge as well as transfer proof. Once dry, it stays in place for long hours but becomes a bit prone to transferring onto opposing surfaces / smudging when touched once the eyelids become oily. It can be easily removed by using a good cleansing face wash as well as makeup removers. It does not irritate the eyes. On the downside, it contains parabens.
   The Oriflame The One Wonder Liner can be purchased by contacting an Oriflame consultant as well via online shopping portals. Though a bit on the pricier side, frequent discounts and offers by Oriflame and online retail sites makes this a budget friendly option to flatter the eyes!

- Simple, attractive and compact packaging.
- Thin liquid consistency.
- Smooth textured formula without any gritty particles.

   Cons:
- The thick applicator brush makes applying the eyeliner in thin strokes difficult.
- Possesses a strong chemical smell.

- Smudges when touched / lightly transfers once eyelids become oily.
- Marginally on the pricier side.
- Contains parabens.

   Verdict: 4/5. Despite the difficulty encountered while application, the jet black pigmentation and long staying power of the Oriflame The One Wonder Liner make it definitely worth a try.

Product Review - Maybelline Hyperglossy Liquid Liner

   Of all the eye liners launched by Maybelline India, the Hyperglossy Liquid Liner was the first product created with a resultant glossy effect and was followed by the release of Hyperglossy Electrics Liquid Liner available in 5 vibrant shades. Reviewing the Maybelline Hyperglossy Liquid Liner here to find out whether it sticks to the claims made by its parent company or not.

   Product Claims: For dramatic, dazzling eyes, choose Hyper Glossy Liquid Liner.
With a smudge-proof formula, this eye liner has great staying power and lasts for up to 24 hours. Sweep on a thick, bold line and enjoy beautiful, highlighted eyes all day.  

   Price: Rs. 245/-

   Volume: 3 g.
   Shelf Life: 36 months.
   Directions: Start at the inner corner of lid and line along the lash line following the contour of your eye. For added drama, apply slightly heavier at outer corners.

   The Maybelline Hyperglossy Liquid Liner comes in a sleek black conical tube with its name written in shiny pink font on it. It has a small pot containing the liner pigment and an elongated handle which provides a good grip for easy application of the liner. The applicator provided is around a centimeter in length, soft and pliable with a sharp tip for application in thin and precise strokes. The liner packaging is very compact, leak proof and travel friendly.
   The consistency of the liner is perfect for application - Neither too thick to form clumps nor too thin to run down the eyes. It has a smooth texture which makes it glide on the eyelids easily without tugging on them. It provides a jet black glossy finish and dries within seconds of application. It stays in place on my eyes for the entire day without smudging, fading or chipping away unless I rub them vigorously. It can be removed easily even with use of a face wash and does not irritate the sensitive skin of the eyes. The only negative of this product that I could find is that it isn't water resistant.
   Being easy on the pocket and widely available across the nation makes it all the more popular amongst the ladies!

- Ease of application.
- Perfect consistency, neither clumpy nor runny.
- Its smooth texture makes it glide easily on eyelids.

- Gives a glossy finish on drying.
- Stays on eyelids until they are rubbed vigorously or come in contact with water.
- Does not chip off.
- Fade proof.
- Can be removed easily.
- Does not irritate the eyes.
- Pocket friendly price.
- Easily available across India. 

   Cons:
- Not water resistant.

   Verdict: 4.75/5. If liners with a glossy finish are your thing, the Maybelline Hyperglossy Liquid Liner will take no time in becoming one of your go to products to enhance your eyes and give it an electric touch!

Product Review - Maybelline The Colossal Liner

   Maybelline launched their Rebel Bouquet collection early this year amongst which The Colossal Liner was the first product to hit the markets. The Colossal Liner is fourth in line in their much loved Colossal range of products. Reviewing the same in detail here with emphasis on product claims, its price and shelf life, volume provided, pros and cons, product pictures, swatches and more.

   Product Claims: Enjoy eye-catching intensity and flawless precision with the Maybelline New York Colossal Liner. Designed to end all your application woes, the Maybelline New York Colossal Liner features a 0.4 mm Flexi Tip applicator that gives you perfect, error-free lines. Empowered with the Ink Pigment Technology, this Colossal Eyeliner imparts fade-proof, intense color to your eyes. Its quick-dry formula ensures a 12-hour staying power and quick application. Add this kajal eyeliner to your vanity kit and enjoy stunningly defined eyes, everyday!

   Price: Rs. 425/-

   Volume: 1.2 g.

   Shelf  Life: 24 months.

   On first look the Maybelline The Colossal Liner looks more or less like a marker with a black cylindrical body and a sturdy well fitted cap with the name of the product etched in yellow. It is sleek, compact, travel friendly, elegant and attractive to look at. It is provided with a flexible applicator with a thin pointed tip which makes applying the eyeliner in thin precise lines easy.
   The eyeliner pigment in jet black in color and glides easily on the lids without tugging onto the skin. It dries quickly to provide a glossy finish, is fade proof and stays on eyelids for the claimed 12 hours easily without chipping or flaking away. It's major downside for me is that it transfers onto opposing surfaces and smudges even with a light touch soon after the skin becomes oily so the liner can't be applied in thick lines or used by those who fidget with their eyes a lot. Not the best liner to be used in monsoon as it is not water resistant and gets washed off even with splashes of water. That being said it is good for daily use as it can be removed easily and does not irritate the eyes. Another concern is that the liner might dry right up if by chance the lid is kept open for long.
   Though it is easily available across both online and offline platforms much like other Maybelline products, it is a bit too costly when compared to other liners which may sting the pockets of buyers.

   Pros:
- Sleek, travel friendly and attractive packaging.
- The pointed tip helps in drawing precise thin lines. 
- Glides easily on the eyes.
- The soft felt lined tip does not tug on the eyelids.
- Jet black pigmentation. 
- Quick dry formula.
- Gives a subtle glossy finish.
- The eyeliner stays in place for hours on end.
- Fade proof.
- Does not flake or chip away.
- Can be removed easily. 
- Does not irritate the eyes.
- Easily available.

   Cons:

- Transfers after a few hours of application.

- Not totally smudge proof.

- Isn't water resistant.
- Leaving the cap open might dry the liner right away.
- A bit pricey compared to other eye liners.
- No mention of list of ingredients.

   Verdict: 4/5. Though not without a few cons, The Colossal Liner is sure to become a part of your daily makeup routine due to its ease of use with quick precise strokes of jet black liner to give you eyes that mesmerize.
 

Product Review - Elle 18 Water Resistant Black Out! Liner

   I remember Elle 18 as one of the first cosmetic brands whose products I ever used. Their nail enamels were a must have during my school days. So when Elle 18 gave their products a fresh twist by reintroducing them in a young and bold look, I knew I had to try them out. Sharing a detailed review of their Water Resistant Black Out! Liner below.

   Product Claims: Say hello to your new eyeliner best friend! Jet black and water resistant, it gives you super defined eyes in just one fluid stroke. Now show off perfectly defined eyes. Anytime. Anywhere!

   Price: Rs. 65/-

   Volume: 5 ml.

   Shelf Life: 24 months.

    The Elle 18 Water Resistant Black Out! Liner comes in glass bottles similar to the Elle 18 Nail pops and are sturdy, leak proof and travel friendly. These bottles are provided with pink colored leak proof screw caps with relevant product information printed on top of them and a one centimeter long thin, soft and yielding applicator with a sharp tip.

   The eyeliner is jet black in color, has the perfect consistency for uniform application in a single stroke and gives a matte finish. It takes a little longer to dry up compared to other eyeliners. On eyes, it lasts for hours without fading and smudging with light pressure and is transfer proof. Though after drying up it resists bleeding when in contact with water, even a slight pressure over the liner at that time causes it to smudge. It is not irritating to the eyes and can be easily removed with help of a makeup remover or even with a face wash.

   It is easily available, both, online and in stores and is one of the most pocket friendly liquid liners available in the market.

   Pros:

- Comes in a sturdy and travel friendly see-through glass bottle with a leak proof screw cap.

- Has a thin yielding applicator which makes applying the eyeliner in thin delicate lines possible.

- Consistency is just right for easy application.

- The liquid has a smooth texture without any gritty particles for easy application.

- Gives dark black pigmentation in a single stroke.

- Has a matte finish.

- Does not smudge/transfer after drying up.

- Stays in place for a good number of hours.

- Can be easily removed.

- Not irritating to the eyes.

- Very cost effective.

- Ease of availability across the country.

   Cons:

- Application could have been easier had a longer brush been provided.

- Takes a little while to dry up.

- Not completely water resistant.

- No mention of list of ingredients.

   Verdict: 4/5. A budget buy from Elle 18 which is wonderful for everyday use due to it's ease of application, jet black pigmentation which stays for hours on end without fading or smudging and for being easy and gentle on the eyes.

Product Review - Maybelline Colossal Kajal

   Though the Maybelline Colossal Kajal was launched more than three and a half years ago, reviewing it today as it is the one product which I have been using religiously for more than a year and has become my absolute personal favorite, a definite 'Product Of The Year' for me!

 

   Product Claims: Enriched with Olive Oil Esters, Vitamin E, Vitamin C Derivatives and Conditioning agents, Colossal Kajal has our deepest black pigments, a unique tip and an exclusive color fix formula which gives you smooth, intense color that stays on for up to 12 hours. The Colossal Kajal is ophthalmologically tested and is suitable for contact lens wearers. 
   Maybelline’s Colossal Kajal not only beautifies your eyes, but soothes and nourishes them as well.

   Price: Rs. 199/-

   Volume: 0.35 g

   Shelf Life: 24 months.  
   How to Use: Draw a neat black stroke along your lower waterline. For a more dramatic look, add a bold stroke on the upper lid. To remove, use the Maybelline Eye and Lip Make-up remover.
   Tip: Apply Colossal Volum Express Mascara on the lashes and line your eyes with the Colossal Kajal,  to create the 'Colossal Eyes' effect.

   The Maybelline Colossal Kajal was one of the first cosmetic product that I came across and now after using it on multiple occasions have fallen completely head over heels in love with it! The sleek packaging makes it easy to carry it around. Love how it glides smoothly over my eyelids providing good pigmentation in a stroke or two. Also the fact that it stays right in place without smudging or fading for hours on my eyes and makes my eyes look bigger and more attractive, without creating a big hole in my pocket! 

   Pros:
- Packaged in an attractive sleek yellow tube with a retractable tip.
- Gives good pigmentation, although not the deepest black color.
- A pointed tip makes it easier to apply the kajal more accurately.
- Glides smoothly over the eyes.
- 2-3 swipes enough to get maximum color payoff.
- Can be used over eyelids as well as the waterline.
- Does not irritate the eyes.
- Water resistant.
- Stays well beyond the claimed 12 hours on my eyelids without smudging or fading!
- Well suited for lens wearers.
- Easily available across India.
- One of the most cost effective kajals in the market.

   Cons:
- For people having oily eyelids, it starts to smudge earlier.
- The tip may break if used with a large portion of the kajal protruding out of the tube.

   Verdict: 4.75/5. A product that every girl should try! My go to product for whenever I have to step out of the house! A big yes to all those looking for a recommendation for purchasing it.

AccessorEyes with the Colossal Trio

   Last month, Maybelline introduced a special promotional box containing the three Colossal eye products namely the Colossal Kajal, the Colossal Volum' Express Mascara and their new innovation the Colossal Kohl Turquoise for their makeup enthusiasts to get the Perfect Colossal Eyes in three easy steps.

 

   I got my hands on one of these pretty boxes and created a Colossal eye look to share with you all.

   The packaging of the box is what impressed me the most. The box has a yellow and blue exterior. It's a three tiered box which has a magnetic lock mechanism to shut it close. Each of the tier contains a beautifully packaged Colossal product. The best part about the box was that one can modify the box a little and use it to keep all their cosmetics in it!

   An assortment of looks, ranging from simplest to more complex ones can be created using the three Colossal products. What I've shown here is a very simple and quick way to make your eyes look more attractive.

  
   Steps: 
- First line the entire upper eyelid and the inner half of the lower eyelid with the Colossal Kohl Turquoise.
- Then proceed with lining the outer half of the lower eyelid with the Colossal Kajal.
- Finally, apply the Colossal Volum' Express Mascara over the eyelashes to give them more volume. 

   And voila there you have it - Beautiful Colossal eyes in just 3 easy steps!!

Product Review - Maybelline Colossal Kohl Turquoise

   A month ago I came across the new innovation by Maybelline by the name "The Colossal Kohl Turquoise" but couldn't try it at the time due to super hectic exam preparations and had almost forgotten about it until I came across it yesterday while cleaning my closet and being a make up freak I just had to try it then and there! 
    So keeping all my work aside, I tried the Colossal Kohl on my eyes, but not before taking a few snaps of the packaging in which it came and a few swatches for you all!

 

   Product Claims:  
- First of its kind in India with 2 in 1 benefits of a Kohl and Eyeliner as it lines like a kohl and defines like a liner.

- Provides 12 Hours of smudge-free turquoise intensity.
- Color doesn’t smudge or fade.
- Enriched with nourishing ingredients and Vitamin E to soothe the eye.
- Features a unique tip that glides smoothly for even application.

   Price: Rs. 249/-
   Net Content: 0.35 g
   Expiry Date: 24 months after manufacturing date.

   I used the Kohl today again to test it for all it claims, and was pretty happy with the way it looked on me. It has a very nice creamy, soft texture which makes its application on the eyelids very easy. The color is very fresh and bright and has a shimmer to it. For best effect, should be used with the Colossal Kajal and the Colossal Volum' Express Mascara to enhance the eyes although here I've just used the Kohl.

   Pros: 
- Simple, catchy packaging with a sturdy cap.
- Glides very easily over the eyelid making for very smooth application!
- Provides an intense color with a single swipe.
- Does not smudge or fade.
- Waterproof.
- Can be used as a kohl, an eyeliner and also as an eye shadow.
- Can be easily wiped off with the help of a makeup remover.
- Easily available across the country.

   Cons:
- Being too soft, a bit too much pressure may cause the tip of the Kohl to break off.
- At Rs. 249/- a piece, its on the costlier side.
  

   Verdict: 4.25/5. Would recommend and repurchase in blink of an eye!
