Product Review - The Nature's Co. Foressence Lip Pop - Berry

 

   The one skincare mantra that I religiously follow during winters is to Moisturise! Moisturise! Moisturise! be it for my skin or for lips. So for this winter I chose the The Nature's Co. Foressence Lip Pop in Berry variant as my buddy to protect, nurture and pamper my lips. Do give this review a read to find out if it was a wise decision to do so.
 
   Product Claims: Soft, luscious, moisturized lips are what our Berry Lip-pop provides. An all natural formula, it protects and softens lips. Apply directly to your lips as often as required.

Shea Butter 2 %, Mango Butter, 2 % Castor Oil 5 %, Vitamin E 0.5, Kokum Butter 4 %
Balm base, Natural Flavoring and Food Grade colors (FD & C) Q.S.

   The The Nature's Co. Foressence Lip Pop comes packaged in form of a white cylindrical bullet container and is provided with a matching cap. The bullet can be twisted to protract or retract the lip balm. The container has a pink sticker stuck on it which is printed with all the pertinent information regarding the product such as the name of the brand, the product as well as the variant of the same. It also has mention of the product claims, ingredients, manufacturing details including packaging and expiry dates, volume provided, price and contact information for addressal of queries. It looks simple and has a compact, sturdy and travel friendly packaging.
   The lip balm possesses a mild, pleasant scent of berries. It is non-tinted, i.e transparent making it suitable for women as well as men, though at the same time having the downside of inability to hide the pigmentation of lips. The balm formula is smooth in texture and buttery in consistency, which makes it glide easily across the lips. It feels light on the lips, providing them with a subtle glossy finish. It moisturizes the lips and prevents as well as treats chapping. It withstands sips of liquids without getting wiped off but needs definite reapplication after intake of solid meals. That being said it provides no additional protection from sun damage and the formula melts in hot weather conditions. It is pretty hygienic to use due to its stick form. Also this 100 % vegan, cruelty free lip balm is available in many variants to suit everyone's preferences.
   The The Nature's Co. Foressence Lip Pop is available quite widely across most online retail sites, though their price may sting pockets due to a marginally higher cost!

   Cons:
- Does not hide pigmentation of lips.

- Needs reapplication after solid meals.

- Does not provide SPF protection.

- Melts in hot weather conditions.
- A bit pricey compared to other lip balms.
 

 
   Verdict: 4.25/5. Despite downfalls like a higher price, need for reapplication after meals and softening of the formula in hot weather conditions, the The Nature's Co. Foressense Lip Pops are definitely worth giving a try!

   Maybelline Electro Lip Balms come sealed in a cardboard packing similar to their original formula in same shape and size with detailed information about the product printed on it. The lip balm comes in a sturdy, retractable cylindrical bullet container with a black body and a long transparent cap. It is very attractive to look at and is travel friendly!
   Each of the 4 variants released in India has a different shade of color, a pleasant scent and a slight flavor in accordance to its name. The lip balms feel very smooth on application and glide like butter on lips. A single swipe is more than enough to provide hydration to the lips and gives a glossy finish to them. The variant Oh! Orange! gives a subtle peachy tint to the lips. Pink Shock is the most pigmented of all the variants and a single swipe gives rosy pink lips, its multiple swipes gives color as dark as a lip gloss would. A single swipe of the lip balm moisturizes the lips making them feel softer and more supple and prevents them from chapping or flaking. It feels light on the lips and gives a nice glossy finish. It protects the lips for around 3-4 hours after which reapplication is required. A nice tint of color is left on the lips even after the gloss gets wiped off. On the downside, this formula does not contain SPF unlike the original Baby Lips formula.
   Also, these are easily available and cost effective much like most other Maybelline products.

- Packaged as sturdy, pretty and quirky looking chap sticks which are very travel friendly.
- Available in 4 pleasantly scented varieties.
- Smooth in texture which glides easily on lips.
- The range consists of 4 variants released in India having mild to heavily pigmented shades.
- Single swipe gives desired protection against drying of lips.
- Feels light on the lips.
- Has a subtle glossy finish.
- Makes lips softer and more supple.
- Prevents lips from chapping and flaking.
- Leaves a pretty tint of color on lips which stays on for quite some time.
- Lesser hygiene issues as these come in a retractable container rather than a pot.
- Optimally priced.
- Ease of availability.

   Cons:
- Does not stay for very long on my lips. Needs reapplication after every 3-4 hours.
- Does not contain SPF unlike their original formula.
 

   Verdict: 4.25/5. Another product from Maybelline which hits the jackpot for me. Perfect companion for daily use to protect as well as give a healthy tint to my lips.
 

Product Review - Chambor Velvet Lips Lip Balm SPF 15

   Winters are a welcome change of weather from endless sweaty days. But, along with it come many skin woes amongst which dry and chapped lips is what troubles me the most. Been trying out the Chambor Velvet Lips Lip Balm, which was launched early last year, to end my lip woes and sharing my experience of the same below.

   Product Claims: Velvet lips is a soft, smooth & velvety lip balm.
Its Intense Moisture Therapy Lip Care not only locks the moisture in your lips but does a lot more! Helps protect against dryness and chapping. Helps soften and condition lips. 

   Price: Rs. 295/-
   Volume: 4 g
   Shelf Life: 36 months.
   Application: Take required amount and apply on your lips with a lip brush or your finger tip. Smooth across your lips as often as required.
   Ingredients:

   Chambor Velvet Lips is an untinted lip balm which comes in a transparent round pot container with a navy blue lid. It has a pleasant mild fragrance. A small amount of the lip balm is sufficient to get optimal moisturizing effect. Gliding easily on lips, it feels very light and gives a mild glossy finish. It moisturizes the lips well and softens chapped skin as well as prevents sun damage to make lips appear more luscious. It stays on my lips for a good 4-6 hours without intake of food and drinks. On the downside, application of this lip balm is less hygienic and more cumbersome when compared to chapsticks.

   Pros:
- Packaged in a sturdy, pretty pot which is easy to carry around.
- Does not melt when kept in hot conditions, so doesn't create much fuss!
- Has a pleasant smell.
- Not tinted which makes it friendly for use for males too.
- Glides easily on lips for smooth application. 
- A tiny amount is enough to moisturize the lips.
- Feels very light on the lips.
- Gives a subtle glossy finish.
- Contains SPF 15 giving protection against UV rays.
- Moisturizes the lips well.
- Prevents and treats chapped lips!
- Staying power is pretty good and even after meals and drinks lips feel moisturized.
- Easily available across India. 

      Cons: 
- Less hygienic to use when compared to chapsticks.
- On pricier side.

   Verdict: 4.5/5. Chambor Velvet Lips Lip Balm made my lips stay soft, supple and well moisturized throughout the winter and is definitely worth recommending as well as a repurchase!
