Product Review - The Nature's Co. Atmospure Spearmint Body Wash

   Summers call for special bath and body products to soothe the skin from damage caused by the harsh heat of the sun, providing it with a tingly freshness. To achieve the same, I've been using the The Nature's Co. Atmospure Spearmint Body Wash and am pleasantly surprised with how it momentarily makes me forget all about the prickly heat and sweaty times that lay ahead! Do read my detailed review of the same below.
 

   Product Claims: Get tingly all over with refreshing Spearmint. It purifies, replenishes and revives your skin. This cleansing body wash lathers up in the bath or shower.

   The The Nature's Co. Atmospure Spearmint Body Wash comes packed in a recyclable see through container with its brand name embossed on its side and is provided with a leak proof flip cap. It has a cobalt green information sticker mentioning the name of the brand as well the product, product claims, ingredients, manufacturing details, net volume, price and contact details of the parent company on it. This packaging is simple and attractive but does not provide much sturdiness, my container developed a small crack right at the bottom leading to leakage in initial few days of use itself.

   The body wash formula is greenish in color and is imparted with a strong fragrance of spearmint. It has a fluid consistency, without being too runny. A small amount of the formula when used with a wet loofah produces sufficient lather to cleanse the skin well, providing it a cooling, refreshing sensation while doing so. It takes a little extra effort to rinse the body wash off due to a creamy residue which it leaves on the skin. It does not strip the skin of its natural oils and leaves it feeling moisturized, soft, smooth and supple without any hint of dryness or flaking. Also, I didn't notice much body acne since the time I started using this particular product i.e a month ago and I have still around 2/3rd of the formula in the bottle left. Other positive points include suitability for all skin types, being 100 % organic, cruelty free and having a recyclable packaging.
   The The Nature's Co. Atmospure Spearmint Body Wash is priced on the higher side of the spectrum for a bath product, though quite easily available across the nation via online platforms.

   Cons:
- The container bottle is not very sturdy.
- Leaves a creamy residue on the skin which takes a while to rinse off.
- Price is on the higher side of spectrum.
 

 
   Verdict: 4.25/5. The refreshing scent, tingly cooling sensation and thorough cleansing property of the The Nature's Co. Atmospure Spearmint Body Wash make it a must try product, especially during the scorching summers like the ones we're having right now!

Product Review - The Body Shop Strawberry Shower Gel

   A few months back, The Body Shop was offering 50% discount on few of their products in-store as well as through their online shopping portal and me being a complete sucker for bargains couldn't resist picking up a few products for myself. Reviewing a shower gel from their much loved Strawberry collection today that I have been using on a regular basis since almost two months now.

   Product Claims:
   Given the benefits of strawberry seed oil, The Body Shop couldn't pass up the opportunity to create a beautiful Strawberry Bath & Body range. Alongside Strawberry Body Sorbet, Strawberry Body Mist and seven other simply sumptuous bath and body products, The Body Shop brings you Strawberry Shower Gel.
   For clean, soft, hydrated skin, get yourself into a lather with Strawberry Shower Gel!
   Extracted from strawberry seeds, strawberry seed oil is pressed from strawberry seeds left over from jam production. Strawberry seed oil is rich in vitamin C and antioxidants to protect and nourish skin.
   It is loaded with Community Fair Trade Soya Oil which is very rich in essential fatty acids that help to repair the skin's moisture barrier thus helping to restore moisture, smoothness and suppleness. Glycerin is an effective moisturizer which helps improve softness and maximize hydration. Natural strawberry extract conditions the skin. Strawberry Shower Gel is a soap-free shower gel that is perfect for normal to dry skin. With its sweet, fruity scent and rich foaming lather, it helps to hydrate your skin for long-lasting skin silkiness.

   The Body Shop Strawberry Shower Gel comes in transparent cylindrical recyclable plastic bottles with a flip cap. These are simple yet pretty to look at and are also very sturdy and travel friendly. Shower gels from other The Body Shop ranges too come packaged in similar signature bottles with attractive labels with relevant information printed on them.
   The shower gel is a fruity red strawberry color and is the perfect consistency to use. Neither too thick, nor too runny. It smells of strawberries, the scent being natural which isn't overpowering. A tiny amount when applied on wet skin creates abundant lather and cleanses the skin well without stripping it of natural moisture, leaving it clean, fresh, soft and supple. It didn't make even the driest parts of my skin flake in the entire time that I have been using this shower gel. On the downside, though it smells wonderful while taking bath, the scent disappears almost completely as soon as the gel is rinsed off the body. Also, it leaves a little creamy residue on my skin which requires an extra minute or two to rinse off properly. 
   For the environmentally conscious, a big plus for all the The Body Shop products in general is the fact that they all come in recyclable packing and are cruelty free. The shower gel is available easily across the country. Price-wise, though it costs almost twice than what drugstore brands do, it is still pretty pocket friendly as the shower gel lasts forever. I have been using it for almost two months and still have enough amount last to last me another two months or so! And the fact that I purchased it at a flat 50 % off made it a steal buy!

   Pros:
- Comes in the signature The Body Shop see-through, sturdy plastic bottles with a flip cap.
- Has a very natural smelling strawberry scented fragrance.
- Neither too thick nor runny in consistency.
- A small quantity goes a long way.
- Lathers abundantly.
- Cleanses the grime and dirt well.
- Does not make the skin dry or flaky.
- Keeps skin soft and supple.
- Well suited for all skin types.
- Cruelty free product.
- Comes in recyclable packaging.
- Easily available across the nation.

Cons:
- Leaves a creamy residue which takes little extra effort to rinse off.
- The fragrance disappears soon after rinsing the shower gel.
- No mention of list of ingredients.
- A little expensive when compared to other shower gels.

Verdict: 4.5/5. My skin loved this cruelty free, sweet strawberry scented, moisturizing shower gel enough to make me want to repurchase it again! Also, can't wait to try shower gels from other ranges of The Body Shop soon enough! 

Product Review - Dove Beauty Moisture Body Wash

   As winter draws near, it also brings with it dry, rough and flaky skin. Been using the Dove Beauty Moisture Body Wash in a bid to protect my skin from winter dryness and reviewing the same here today. Let's see how it fares.

Which is why Dove with 1/4 moisturizing milk is made to give you beautifully moisturized texture, convert moisture into softness, moisturize the skin where glow begins.
The point? To indulge your skin, not merely the senses. Your skin will feel pleasantly soft, smooth and moisturized.
Don't use occasionally. In skincare, everyday is everything.

   Price: Rs. 125/-
   Volume: 200 ml.
   Shelf Life: 24 months.
   How to use: Squeeze body wash onto a wet pouf or wash cloth and work into rich, creamy lather.
   Ingredients: Water, Sodium Laureth Sulphate, Glycerin, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Fragrance, Cocamide MEA, Acrylates Coploymer, Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer, Isopropyl Palmitate, Guar Hyraxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Sodium Chloride, DMDM Hydantoin, Propylene Glycol, Citric Acid, Tetrasodium EDTA.

   The body wash comes in a sturdy, white dispenser with a flip cap and has a mild fragrance which isn't overpowering and subsides in just a little time. A small amount of body wash creates good amount of lather with just a little addition of water which cleanses and moisturizes the skin well. Normally, during winter the skin on my arms gets dry and flaky but ever since I've started using this particular body wash, it has retained the moisture even without the use of a moisturizer after taking bath and helped my skin become smoother and more supple than before. The only issue about this body wash for me is that it leaves a creamy residue on my skin which takes a little time to get rid of! 

    Pros: 
- Available in a sturdy, travel friendly bottle.
- Mildly fragrant.
- Moderate in consistency, neither too runny nor too thick.
- A small amount of product is enough to cleanse the skin well.
- Lathers abundantly.
- Moisturizes skin well.
- Makes skin softer and more supple.
- Well suited for all skin types.
- Easy on the pocket!
- Widely available across India.

   Cons:
- Leaves a creamy residue on skin which is not easy to rinse off.
- People with extremely dry skin might need a moisturizer for better skin protection.
- Personally I prefer a fragrance which lasts longer.

   Verdict: 4.5/5. Works wonderfully well for my skin type, especially in this weather! A big thumbs up! 

Product Review - Neutrogena Rainbath Shower and Bath Gel

   Neutrogena India had a free sampling of their Rainbath Shower and Bath Gel around a month ago and me being a complete sucker for trying out new skincare products signed up for it right away! I received my sample a few days back, a pretty little bottle well protected in bubble wrap and neatly packaged in an envelope.

- Its unique fragrance of spices, fruits and herbs provides a clean, fresh burst that awakens your senses and refreshes your entire body.

- This special formula rinses clean, without any heavy residue.

    Rainbath Shower and Bath Gel is also available in 2 more sizes (16 oz & 32 oz) and in 2 more varieties i.e Pomegranate and Pear & Green Tea, but are not commonly available in India. It was also available in Grapefruit variety, but has now been discontinued.

   I was very excited about using this product as it was by Neutrogena, a brand which usually has pretty good products, and it proved better than what I expected! The strong and refreshing aroma of the gel is what I loved the most! After using the gel for around a week now, I feel that my skin has become softer than what it used to be. Also, it doesn't leave a creamy residue on my skin which is not easy to rinse off, but at the same time moisturizes my skin well and doesn't dry it out unlike many other soaps and gels.

   Pros:
- The full sized gel comes in a very pretty and sturdy pump dispenser.
- Has a very refreshing fragrance. 
- Lathers abundantly.
- No creamy residue on skin after rinsing the product.
- Moisturizes the skin well unlike many other products which dry out the skin.
- Well suited for oily, dry, combination as well as sensitive skin.
- Works well even for those with medical skin conditions.
- Easily available in India.

   Cons:
- Would have preferred the fragrance to last longer on me.
- Costlier when compared to other shower gels.

   Verdict: 4.5/5. Would definitely recommend and purchase a full sized product!
