#FrizzFreeHair Vatika Women's IndiBlogger Meet

#FrizzFreeHair Vatika Women's IndiBlogger Meet

On 10th October, 2015 I attended my first ever women's only IndiBlogger meet which was held in collaboration with Dabur Vatika at DJ Hall, Mumbai. All us female bloggers were sent an email by IndiBlogger, informing us about the meet and leading us to their registration page. I knew I was definitely going to attend this meet as it was surely going to be about hair-care, something which suits the purpose of my blog and also because I knew that many of my blogger friends and acquaintances were going to attend it, so why miss the chance of meeting old friends and getting a chance to make new ones!
A day before the meet, we received yet another email from the IndiBlogger team, informing us about two twitter contest that they had organized for us, which added to our excitement. The first one required us to post a picture of how our hair looked like at the end of a typical friday, frizzy or otherwise while we had to post a picture wearing anything green in color for the second one. The winners for the same were announced during the meet itself, and though I had participated in both these contests enthusiastically, I didn't end up winning either of these.. Makes a sad face! :( We were gives a heads up for the event contest wherein the person with the best hairstyle would be gratified. Also, we were given the color "Green" as a theme and asked to try to wear the same for the event.
The meet was stated to start at 11:30 am and me being a chronic late comer, entered the event at around 12:20 pm. I quickly registered myself at the registration desk and proceeded to enjoy the songs being played by the IndiBand, Blunder in the Code, who had already started their performance by then, making the audience sway to the tunes and headbang when the music demanded! I have to admit that, for a second I thought I entered the wrong venue as I was under the impression of the meet being an only women's event and spotting the formals clad management students of NMIMS at the venue confused me a bit!

Soon after the band performance ended, all us bloggers settled into the elegant seating that was arranged for us and that is when the actual event started. Our emcee gave us a warm welcome, and then started a quick introduction session of a few of us fellow bloggers, after which Mr. Rajat Nanda and Mr. Rakesh Tehliani from Dabur Vatika was called upon to give us a quick insight into the brand through the medium of a short and sweet power-point presentation and a quick video, followed by the the product unveiling of the Dabur Vatika Jasmine Non Sticky Coconut Hair Oil for frizz control. Really loved the fact that how the screen in the background gave way to reveal a huge bottle of the hair oil and how the entire hall was magically made to smell of the sweet fragrance of Jasmine! What followed next was a scientific session wherein we were made to understand the exact meaning of the word "Frizz", its causes and how the new Dabur Vatika Jasmine No Sticky Hair Oil helps to keep our mane frizz free. Throughout the meet, servings of delicious starters and coolers made sure that we were kept well fed and hydrated!

Coming to the topic of "Frizz", we came to know that isn't actually a word which can be applied to a single quality of hair, but it is rather a complex mix of unmanageable, dry, rough and messy hair. It can be defined as a state of complete hair fiber misalignment. It can be due of either of - Low humidity, high humidity or hair damage. The Dabur Vatika Jasmine Non Sticky Coconut Hair Oil prevents as well as treats frizzy hair by providing surface lubrication, damage control, surface coating and extra protection all the while giving a fresh feeling to hair.

Following this much informative session on hair-care, we were treated to a very interesting and unusual game, named as "Best Friends Forever" which consisted of a game of rock, papers and scissors in which the winner was supposed to mess up the hair of their losing opponent and pass on to the next round, until there was just one person remaining! Even though I lost in the first round itself, it sure was fun watching people mess up each other's hair! Many interjected that rather than making friends, this was a sure way to lose one, considering how obsessed we usually are about our mane! But we were told to not worry about our hair, as the Dabur Vatika team had set up a special "Champi Station" for a relaxing head massage followed by head wash and quick hair styling for us ladies which we could experience at the end of the meet.
Next, was an interactive session with our emcee asking us about the remedies that we used to keep our hair frizz free. Many bloggers shared their secret of beautiful, manageable, frizz free hair. Some of them being:
- Refraining from getting chemical hair treatments and frequent hair styling.
- Oiling of hair followed by tying a hot water towel on head for a few minutes.
- Using apple cider vinegar on hair for an improved texture.
- Applying a hair pack of mayonnaise, olive oil and vitamin E capsules for an hour and washing it thereafter.
- Using beer as a conditioner for better shine and texture.
- Apply yogurt on hair, for those avoiding eggs.
- On a lighter note, prevent stress by not getting married or having children!

And, with that the event concluded, with the IndiBlogger team giving us our goodie bags after which off we went to get our hair pampered at the "Champi Station" (Had to skip this part due to time constraint) and a scrumptious lunch consisting of salads, pizza, pastas, Indian delicacies consisting of dum aalu, a paneer gravy, dal, dahi vade, naan and rotis, rice and more and not to forget the mouth watering desserts consisting of two delicious varieties of ice cream, ras malai and blueberry cheesecakes.
To sum it up, I can say that I loved every moment of attending my first ever women's only (Well atleast the bloggers were all women!!) IndiBlogger meet. Loved interacting with my blogger buddies, a few whom I met after a long time and also with those whom I met for the first time here. This short and sweet event was filled with fun, conversations amongst like minded people, gaining knowledge about hair issues that trouble us all and creating memories to be cherished for a lifetime!
